The University of Zakho actively promotes student leadership and engagement, with a particular focus on empowering female students to take on significant roles in various academic and extracurricular activities. The university has established numerous programs that provide opportunities for students, including women, to develop their skills and showcase their talents.
One notable example of this commitment is the Oil Link Program, which took place on April 23rd, 2023. This initiative was organized by the Career Development Center (CDC) at the University of Zakho, under the leadership of Ms. Diman Jacksi, an instructor in the Faculty of Engineering and the CDC Coordinator. The program aimed to connect students from various universities and institutions across the Duhok governorate who are enrolled in the petroleum department.
During the Oil Link Program, female students played critical roles as panelists and protocol officers, demonstrating their capabilities and contributions to discussions surrounding the petroleum industry. The program included a dynamic competition format designed to enhance practical skills and encourage collaboration among participants, allowing them to engage in meaningful dialogues on industry trends, technological advancements, and environmental considerations.
This program serves as an example of the University of Zakho’s commitment to fostering student leadership and inclusivity, particularly for women in traditionally male-dominated fields. Below are some photos documenting this significant event.
